On the High Street there are quite a few books on the Anglo-Saxons, all readable and I have read quite a few. But, this book is rather different in that in goes that it goes a deal further in explaining the Anglo-Saxons. It could well be that the author had a very academic background and The Anglo-Saxons book shows most strongly in the books s:   But what a legacy this is - a fresh and thorough analysis of the Anglo-Saxons, and a book to refer to again and again.

It was well-written and clear, it held tons of information, and it had interesting photos on every page that really helped illustrate what life was like for the Anglo-Saxons5(29).

This book is beautifully put together. Between the pictures, maps, illustrations and text, anyone interested in the Anglo-Saxon world will find this to be an excellent source.
